Jason Deroche is a seasoned guitarist whose playing reflects decades of dedication, versatility, and refined musicality.

He began playing guitar at the age of 12, developing a deep connection to the instrument that has shaped his life and career ever since. While fluent across a wide range of styles, Jason’s true passion lies in classical guitar—where precision, expression, and nuance come together in their purest form.

Throughout his career, Jason has performed in a variety of settings, from university stages to concert series across Chicago, as well as more intimate performances in libraries and senior living communities. His approach to performance is rooted in connection—bringing high-level musicianship into accessible, engaging environments for every audience.

Jason has performed with several respected ensembles, including the Avanti Guitar Trio, a chamber group recognized for its “pristine technique and sensitive interpretation,” as well as The Ondas Ensemble. He currently performs with Ten Strings, continuing to explore collaborative, ensemble-driven music.

Known for his adaptability, Jason can seamlessly move between genres, though his performances most often center around the richness and tradition of classical repertoire. He performs on a Kenny Hill guitar, an instrument known for its craftsmanship and tonal clarity, which complements his expressive style.

In addition to performing, Jason has shared his knowledge as an instructor in the past, mentoring developing musicians and helping shape their foundation in classical guitar. While he no longer teaches, his influence continues through his performances and musical collaborations.
